Zodiac Polaris 3900 Pressure Swimming Pool Cleaner

Does your Zodiac Polaris 3900 Sport pool cleaner or other pressure side pool cleaner not run correctly and does strange things like running in circles or running too fast? A lot of the issue is turning the cleaner correctly and the speed of the cleaner. The first step is to check how many revolutions the single drive side wheel is doing.

The cleaner should be doing around 20 - 25 RPMs on the drive side simply pick the cleaner up to the side of the pool making sure it is under water and count the RPMs on the drive side for 30 seconds and double it. If the Polaris cleaner is running too fast adjust the flow valve in the wall of the pool, sometimes the restrictor will need to be changed or removed.

After you have checked the speed of the Polaris it is time to tune it, the tale sweep can be adjusted by turning it to increase or decrease the speed, it will flick around and the jet can be adjusted to increase or decrease climbing of the walls and which way the cleaner will turn. The truster jet is one of the most important parts of the Polaris's operation and can be nudged when emptying the bag so it is very important to check from time to time by watching the Polaris.
